May 2026 Amazon Round-Up

Okay, so a little bit of a new thing for the blog as this month draws to a close. Since beginning to make everything from scratch in my home and doing a lot of research online before buying, I have had some purchases that have point blank been an absolute flop. I have also had some purchases that are absolutely 110% worth the hype!

At the end of each month, let’s break down my purchases, see what is worth the money, and what isn’t.

Beeswax Bread Bags (CLICK HERE)

These have been phenomenal as an addition to my sourdough baking game! I cannot begin to hype these up enough. Inexpensive, not single use, easy to clean with a cold wet cloth, and do an amazing job at keeping sourdough fresh for DAYS!

Bread Bow Knife (CLICK HERE)

Basically speaking, I hate it. I have kept it for the pure fact of styling photo’s for Instagram, but the biggest issue I have with this is that the blade wont hit the chopping board so it always messes up the bottom of a slice of bread you’ve just cut off. I don’t like anything that ruins my hard work.

Bread Bowl Covers (CLICK HERE)

Before I lost them, they were fantastic. Although the two smaller sizes were basically unusable as they were too small for my intended use. But yes, I lost them. Won’t repurchase again as I’ve now brought a sewing machine and will make my own. If you have a friend who likes to sew, ask them to make you a couple and save some $$

Indoor Security Camera (CLICK HERE)

I purchased these as I have a teen who likes to take my makeup, clothes and shoes without asking aha. BUT for the price of this camera, this is amazing! The app integrated with this camera is smooth and cloud storage is inexpensive.

Blank Recipe Book (CLICK HERE)

I have been teaching my teen to cook, but 98% of my recipes live in my head and not on paper. Brought this inexpensive book to start writing my recipes down for her. It’s not my personal style, but it’s functional and there is a lot of writing space in this book.

Magnetic Knife Holder (CLICK HERE)

This suits the aesthetic of my kitchen PERFECTLY. I just really don’t like the fake glass on the front of the knife block. I wish the magnets were slightly stronger as I do have a set of very heavy knives, but asides from those small issues, it works well and does the job perfectly!

Pear Night Light (CLICK HERE)

As my toddler is beginning to explore power points, I didn’t want a night light that plugs into the wall. This answered my prayers really. It’s USB-C charged, and has so many settings for brightness, timer and even colours. She loves it and it’s safe for her bedroom.

Loaf Dutch Oven (CLICK HERE)

This baddie is cast iron and is pumping out sandwich loaves like CRAZY in this house! I absolutely love this and is one of the best purchases I have made to date for my sourdough journey!

Scoring Lame (CLICK HERE)

Yes another purchase for sourdough. I brought this lame to replace my other lame so that the blade wasn’t exposed due to having a home with small children in it. Brownie points for being magnetic to be able to have her live on the top of my fridge.

Chew Necklaces (CLICK HERE)

My son is Autistic and one of his sensory needs is to chew. Chew necklaces prevent him chewing on things that are unsafe. We needed a top up, and he absolutely loves the shark tooth from this set.

Weck Canning Jars (CLICK HERE)

I’m slowly but surely trying to build up a canning jar collection again. I say slowly as importing jars to Australia is on the expensive side. I have used both Weck and Ball Canning Jars in the past when I previously fell in love with Jam Making.

I decided to go Weck as there are less parts that need replacing over time which in turn with my initial outlay of cost, should save me money in the long term.

So there you have it, a round up of everything I have purchased on Amazon through the months of May and all my thoughts.
